THE PORTER MANSION   KBJ HEADQUARTERS   
The 1902 residence was purchased and restored by KBJ in 1981 for the use as the corporate office. The restoration concept was to preserve the original architectural features of the interior spaces, including decorative cornices, moldings, doors and hardware. Thus, much of the original hardware, fixtures and fine mahogany woodwork was saved and reused. All office spaces were carefully planned to leave the painted interior walls of the house essentially untouched, relying on free standing furnishings. A palette of over 25 accent colors occurs throughout the building.
