THE SPA AT THE RITZ-CARLTON AMELIA ISLAND will occupy the north end of the site, front the road and will wrap around the existing indoor pool and new adult pool deck. The existing spa and fitness center will be completely remodeled and integrated into the new facility. The spa will provide 26 treatment
rooms and will offer special services, a whirlpool, an outdoor pool, and a coed lounge. Men's and women's locker rooms will also have a whirlpool, as well as a steam room, a sauna, and a relaxation lounge. In addition, there will be a retail shop, new beauty salon, fitness center, and a home for the Ritz Kids. Total, the project is almost 23,000 s.f. of facilities. Construction just got underway, starting with a set of "sun terraces" that will overlook the family pool. Completion is scheduled for late 2006.
